Back from Asilomar!

These pictures say it all:

Asilomar is right on Monterey Bay--Meg and I could hear the ocean from our window!

This is me and Cassandra. We look like we're having fun because we ARE!

The beautiful redhead and silverhaired lady next to her are none other than Linda Joy Singleton and Verla Kay!

And here's Meg's beautiful face along with Cassandra, Linda Joy, and Verla in the background.

Asilomar is gorgeous! It was reminiscent of Chautauqua in that you could eat and talk with editors and authors all you wanted. Some of the best moments were sitting around a fire at night chatting with everyone about children's writing. Wow.

I can't wait for next year!

Oh, and about tidbits--I guess that's strictly forbidden, so, you'll have to come and experience it yourself! If you can't afford Chautauqua, this is the next best thing. I'd love to see you here!

That sounds like a wonderful conference! I'll have to remember it for next year. I'm in So. Cal, but I LOVE the Monterey/Carmel region. It's beautiful, isn't it? I'm glad you had a wonderful time!

Oh, you really should mark it down. I'll let you know when the sign up is--it happens sometime in October and sells out quickly.

Oh, it looks gorgeous. What a setting to talk about being creative. You lucky West Coast gals. We got three inches of snow this morning.

Thanks for posting the great photos. Is that Cassandra as in Cassandra on Verla's?? Very cool.

How cool to see Verla! I don't think I ever had.

I'll have to check it out.

Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures, Pam! It sounds like you had a heavenly weekend. I don't know what it is, but you and Meg look like you've been friends since kindergarten. :)

I wish I could be a California girl!

I made it into your Asilomar photos!
I'm in the 1 with Linda Joy Singleton. I'm behind the lady with white hair and lady in lavender sweater. I have a greenish shirt on. Also, a woman next to me, Megan Leopold, is now in my writing critique group. I LOVED Asilomar and am already looking forward to next year. I remember you Pamm - glued to Meg's hip. :)
