Ah, to be young again...

Princess Peepers
Okay, so one of my daughters is in love with a boy in her class. They were holding hands outside the classroom and he said, "Come here. It's time to kiss." Shocked, my daughter said, "Jay! You're kidding!" He laughed and said he was.

All she can think about is Jay. It's Jay this and Jay that. She even says she wants to marry him!

You say, "Eh, teenagers."

Right.

It's my five year old...

LOL - I know what you mean! My five year old wrote that she loves Tanner in her school journal!

I volunteered at her class yesterday and the whole room wanted to fill me in on her "boyfriend". He's a cute, shy little boy. I couldn't imagine him asking her to neck. HA!

Hee hee. I don't think Jay was kidding.
We've had some kissing on the bus incidents here. Yikes.

Tee hee! He wasn't kidding. He ended up kissing her on the nose later. :-)

Oh, don't tell me this! I was boy-crazy from a young age, but I dread my dd going through the same thing...sigh. Maybe if I don't mention it, she'll just slide on by....

:-) I've had three girls--all were boy crazy, but I'll have to admit, this one is the most--I think because she has older teenage siblings talking about "things", so you may not have to worry about this so much with your first.

When my son (E) was in preschool, he and this little girl (Z) were madly in love. One day when Z's mother came to pick her up, she overheard E and Z argueing about which one of them would have the baby when they got married.

I still chuckle about the idea of E making medical history! But of course E and Z, now both in middle school, pointedly ignore each other--at least when I'm around.

Tee hee! I expect that might happen but we're only going to be here for four years. I guess she could ditch him by 4th grade...HA!

I'm sure my 5-year-old son would love to be her next boyfriend! He had two fiancees when he was 3. ;-) A third girl was jealous and said, "If you don't say you'll marry me, too, I'll stop saying I love you!" He was all torn up about it, seriously, not wanting to hurt any of them! Crazy. Last year, in his 4's preschool, he was the new boy halfway through the year, and only the 4th or 5th boy in a class with 14 girls, so the girls mobbed him from the day he walked in. At least one kissed him, and one made him a big Valentine the first week he was there. They would fight over him! At their end-of-the-year recital practice, he was actually being chased around the auditorium by 3 girls at one point! In kindergarten this year, he says he doesn't have girlfriends, but in the Florida class he was in trouble the first week for talking & giggling with the girls, and told me which girl he thought was cute. So I'm sure it won't be long! Of course, he still has a "girlfriend" at church here--one of those fiancees from when he was 3, who still considers him her best friend and likely future husband!

Five and in the mood for love
When I. was five, he was sure he was going to marry his crush, Z., and asked permission from Z's father. My other son E. (now 5) has a girl coming over for a play date tomorrow that he hasn't seen for a few months. That hasn't stopped him from loving her. He even invented an imaginary friend with the same name. So cute.
