Peepers made Scholastic Book Clubs for the October issue! What's funny is I HAD NO IDEA!!! Can you believe that? Two days ago, I was alerted about it via Bing and found a weird generic form with it on there. I was half believing it was included until someone GAVE ME the Scholastic form yesterday! It really is a dream come true...I always hoped one of my books could make it there one day, but I didn't let myself hope for any books I have out right now...I feel very blessed!

It's in the kindergarten issue... If you're curious, here's the flyer in pdf--Peepers is at the bottom of pg. 4: Seesaw Oct. 8

I'm about done with all of my new books from fellow online authors I know...has anyone read anything lately that is a MUST READ that's been published in the last two years? Don't worry if you think I've read it, just share.

I'm desperate!

To Lisa Schroeder from Bonnie, the dog

Dear [info]lisa_schroeder:

I'm writing to say I love your books!!! All of them. And I HEART YOU, YOU HAUNT ME is my FAVORITE! Yes! I'm telling the truth! No. REALLY!!!

I really read it and I'm not lying just because my family member, Pam, made me say this  because she can be selfish sometimes because she really, really, REALLY wants some of those books.... you know...that you're offering...especially some of those books that have a bird on it but she really doesn't care WHICH book she gets, I mean, wins, because she loves all books of any kind. (I mean, she really is kind of weird that way), but no, I really like books and I like this one. I do....um...yeah...it's my FAV! Woof! And usually I just chew books, but this one I READ. Yeah. I did.

It's a really sweet love story and if only Pam would let me HAVE a boyfriend, I'd hope he would be as romantic as Jackson...sigh...

But it can never happen.
Pam got me FIXED!!!!!!!!!

*Bonnie crosses her paws*

With many licks and fond wishes,

A Conversation with two 8 year olds

Yesterday, I was driving home with my youngest daughter and her VBF (very best friend). This was their conversation. My daughter is C and her friend is H.

H: Do you know how old Barbie is?

C: Um....29?

H: NO! FIFTY!

C: OMG!!! How does she look so young?

H: I don't know...it's creepy!

C: What the heck is with that name anyway? Barbie. It's so weird.

H: Yeah...

So, when we got home, I showed them the REAL Barbie:

My daughter looked at the picture and said, "Makes sense to me!" and skipped out of my room.

Tee hee!

Well, I was TRYING to find Cyn Balog's book, but my sweet little indie shop didn't have it yet (nor Mandy Hubbard's Prada and Prejudice). BUT I did score big! Look what I bought today!!!

Kristy's ME WITH YOU!!! (My poor daughter just had fillings, so she's TRYING to smile. Truly!)

Below is a book jacket illustrated by Tuesday Mourning, Princess Peepers' illustrator...always love to see her stuff out there.

And look at all the other goodies I got today! I'm THRILLED!

Cindy Pon's Silver Phoenix...although I'm sorry the picture is blurred...

Cynthea Liu's SASS...and I even have bookplates for these!! I looked for her latest, Paris Pan Takes the Dare, but alas, I think they're slow with the new releases...

And finally, Joni Sensel's mg!!! YAY!

And now back to unpacking...tonight, I READ!!!!!!!

My New Digs!!!

We are all moved in! I'm not sure if I related it here, but we had to move out of our rat infested, black mold ravaged base house. Um...I wasn't too upset after seeing what we could rent up in the mountains. We happened upon a fantastic deal and are happily settled.

Here's the view from our upstairs living room balcony that I snapped last night:

I do feel blessed!!!

Plus we aren't cramped anymore. :-)

In keeping with Karen Kincy's post the other day, though, I want to keep it real. The downside to this is that I'm farther from the base--40 minutes!! So, it's a journey if I want to go grocery shopping. And there are no Walmarts around! For a mom with four kids, you need Walmart. All we have are K-Marts and to quote a famous movie (Rainman), "K-Mart sucks!" (My apologies to K-Mart fans out there!!!)

I'm sorry I deleted my last post...I just needed to vent...

But I'm better now.

I'm mortified by bad people in the world.

That's all I'm going to say.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater... debuts August 1. Preorder today!

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

Disneyland and family...

I don't often post about my family because this blog is about my writing journey, but I can't divide my family out of the equation (yes, bad pun since I've been working on edits from Multiplying Menace Divides!)

So, here's a picture with me and my hubby as we wait in a long line at Disneyland last week. The ride broke down and we were in this really cool tunnel along with our four children (three of which are teens). Even though we waited for 30 minutes before they fixed it, we had fun! Tee hee!

And my kids had fun, too:

I'm very thankful on this Easter for so many things and I give it all to Him who died for me.

This is nonsense to an unbelieving world, but to those who believe, it is uplifting, freeing, and full of love, joy, and peace.

I praise you LORD!

My Title in Korean!

I found out what the title was for Multiplying Menace. Coincidentally, I have a great friend who works out with me who grew up in Korea. She was able to read the book! She even teared up when she read the gibberish on the front page (well, gibberish to me! I was so impressed with her!)  I thought it was the CIP stuff, but it actually was my author's bio. LOL!

The title is...MULTIPLICATION MAGIC! HA!

SQUEEE!!! I just won a signed copy of THE FINNISH LINE by Linda Gerber from Cynthea Liu's After Hours Party contest!!! YAY! I mean, I NEVER win anything what with all the contests flitting here and there, by the time I see it, a winner has already been picked. When I noticed Cynthea's contest, I thought, Not this time! And it worked!!!

Thank you, Cynthea, for having a truly fun contest. I loved watching the video. :-)

And GO BUY HER BOOK!!! THE GREAT CALL OF CHINA!

http://www.cynthealiu.com/
happy Snape

I remember when Cynthea Liu first asked her lj buds  to help her with the title of her newest soon-to-be-best-seller...I thought, "OH...I LOVE to write titles. Surely, I'll hit with at least a consolation prize!"  So, I went to work and I'm not kidding, I must have researched online for hours and wrote and wrote (and threw away most ideas) to come up with these...um...okay, I'm going to say it...LAME titles. But still. I had fun:

Hottie in a China Shop

Crazy for Zhou (Oh, I had the silly thought that she'd actually change one of her character's names! LOL!)

But instead, the BEST title won out and that was...drum roll please!!!

THE GREAT CALL OF CHINA!!!!!!!!!

And here's the hot book, released today.

Also, check out her FAB party here: Great Call of China PARTAY!!!!!  See a cool movie! Win awesome prizes! It's easy!

I'm going to B & N to get it! Squee!!!!
